Reflections of a B'nai Mitzvah

The bnai mitzvah class of Temple Menorah is thrilled to be part of the Better Togetherâ„¢ program. We will be working with the seniors of the Rosenberg Cultural Center during several intergenerational social and learning sessions to learn more about the Jewish value of respecting our elders and bring the two communities closer together at the Temple. Our sessions alternate between Wednesday afternoon during religious school and Saturday mornings for Shabbat, which means that the students and seniors will also study Torah and worship together. We will be working towards a culminating project that compares the lives of the bnai mitzvah students at twelve and thirteen to those of the seniors at the same age. We will also help the seniors with new skills and technology to help them understand the life of a twelve- or thirteen-year-old in 2017/2018.

We hope you enjoy reading our blog, which will include both written and video journal entries about our experiences with the seniors.
